Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update is Now Available for PS Plus Collection Owners
May-01-2024
Bethesda recently released a significant Next-Gen Update for Fallout 4 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, enhancing the game with native 4K resolution, additional free content from the Creation Club, and other improvements. However, the launch of the update didn't go smoothly, particularly for PS5 users, due to confusion over who was eligible for the free upgrade.
Initially, PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers could download the update without any complications. On the other hand, there was uncertainty about the eligibility of those who obtained Fallout 4 through PS Plus Essential or the now-discontinued PS Plus Collection.
Bethesda has addressed part of this confusion in its latest communication. They acknowledged the feedback from PS Plus subscribers who were facing difficulties in accessing the next-gen upgrade of Fallout 4. The studio confirmed that they have now resolved this issue. Thus, players who previously acquired Fallout 4 via the PlayStation Plus Collection are now eligible to download the next-gen update.
The status of the upgrade for PS Plus Essential subscribers is still uncertain. Meanwhile, Xbox players who subscribe to Game Pass face no issues accessing the update. The resolution of accessibility for all remaining affected subscribers remains to be seen as Bethesda continues to navigate this complex rollout.
