LinkedIn Leverages Algorithmically Suggested Posts to Boost Engagement
Apr-05-2023
LinkedIn is the latest social media platform to add algorithmically suggested posts from across its network. This edition of ‘Suggested Posts’ will be highlighted to users based on their interests and engagement activity, increasing the pool of content displayed in-stream. This follows the lead of TikTok in expanding content recommendations beyond a user’s social graph.
The aim of the ‘Suggested Posts’ feature is to highlight content that may be of interest to users, as well as to increase engagement and reach on the platform. LinkedIn’s algorithm will select posts based on a user’s profile and activity, with posts appearing with a ‘Suggested’ label in the feed. This is a departure from the traditional model of manually selecting content from people that a user chooses to follow.
TikTok focuses on the content itself, not the people who are followed, which enables its algorithm to display the top-performing content from across the platform. This allows for content to be shared quickly and easily and for more people to be exposed to it.
The addition of algorithmically suggested posts on LinkedIn is a great way for users to discover new content and for them to be exposed to content that is tailored to their interests. This feature provides an easier and more efficient way of discovering content and engaging with it. We look forward to seeing how this feature will continue to evolve in the future.
